Are you affected by the Volkswagen Emissions Scandal?

The Volkswagen Group breached emissions regulations by fitting a defeat device into 1.2 million vehicles in the UK.

Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions from the affected vehicles exceeded the permitted limit.

This affected owners of Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda vehicles.

LGWP are not accepting any more Emissions cases at this time. We do offer a range of other legal services, details of which can be found at www.cardiff-law.co.uk

Is it too late to claim?

How does a group claim work?

A group claim is where one claim is made on behalf of a large number of claimants.

This differs from a large number of individuals all making separate claims over the same issue and is more affordable.

Is claiming straighforward?

Yes. You provide information and documents about the vehicle through our online system.

We store your data safely and we do not share it. A dedicated member of our legal team will keep you informed every step of the way.

“It is a pleasure to work with the team, who have an excellent practical and professional approach to dealing with client requirements and expectations.”

Why claim with LGWP Law?

The Volkswagen Group breached emissions regulations by fitting a defeat device into 1.2 million vehicles in the UK. Diesel emissions contain Nitrogen Oxides (NOx). NOx emissions are harmful to your health and detrimental to air quality.

LGWP Law supports clean air for all. Through helping you to claim the financial compensation you deserve from the Volkswagen Group, we also enable you to send a strong message to manufacturers that breaching emissions regulations is not okay.

We offer a simple and clear claims service on a no win no fee basis. If you don’t win, you don’t pay any legal fees or expenses. Our fee is 30% of your compensation plus VAT, or only 20% plus VAT if we don't need to go to court.

Your vehicle

When you bought or leased your vehicle, you were under the impression that it would meet the emissions standards.

A ‘defeat device’ was installed in the vehicle, so that emissions control systems only worked whilst it was being tested.

When the vehicle was on the road, Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions exceeded the permitted limit.  This is a violation of emissions regulations.

The manufacturer didn’t tell you that the vehicle was fitted with a defeat device. The High Court have recently found that the vehicles were fitted with defeat devices. We believe that you are a victim of deceit.

Did you know?

  • In September 2015 the US Environmental Protection Agency revealed how The Volkswagen Group had violated their Clean Air Act. The car manufacturer admitted to manipulating 11 million vehicles worldwide.
  • The UK is the second most seriously impacted country in the world with 1.2 million affected vehicles
  • Claimants in other countries, including the USA, Australia, Canada and Germany, have recovered thousands of dollars and euros in compensation in respect of their vehicles.
  • The Volkswagen Group said in a statement: “Volkswagen Group maintains that there has never been a defeat device installed in any of its vehicles in the UK” [The Guardian, 1st Dec 2019]
  • In April 2020 it was determined that “the software function in issue in this case is indeed a defeat device. Mr Justice Waksman
  • Justice Waksman relied upon an existing case which stated “Exposure to nitrogen dioxide in the air carries with it significant risks to human health. A recent analysis from the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (“DEFRA”) estimates that exposure to nitrogen dioxide has an effect on mortality equivalent to 23,500 deaths annually in the [United Kingdom]”.

LGWP Law make it simple and quick for you to start and progress your claim, keeping you informed every step of the way.

We believe clean air is vital. We enable claimants to send a powerful message to
manufacturers that excessive pollution is unacceptable.
